Local authorities had a call with the government yesterday to discuss details of the upcoming Restart Grants scheme, first announced last week in the Budget.
Full guidance about the Restart Grant will be published in the week commencing 22nd March, with FAQs available in early April and local authorities receiving funding for the grants in April too.
These are one-off grant payments to non-essential retailers, leisure, hospitality and personal care businesses.
The grant scheme replaces all existing LRSG grants.
Eligibility for Restart Grants will be defined by sector, with larger grants available to those who will be impacted more by lockdown restrictions.
Payment levels depend on the rateable value of your premises. For non-essential retailers, the grants are:
-RV of up to £15,000 = £2,667
-RV of £15,001 to £51,000 = £4,000
-RV of £51,000+ = £6,000
For hospitality, accommodation, gyms and personal care businesses:
-RV of up to £15,000 = £8,000
-RV of £15,001 to £51,000 = £12,000
-RV of £51,000+ = £18,000
We will share more details with you as they become available.
